    1.The inspiration for this multi-genre project was the novel The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway. Fishing is directly related to the American Dream because that dream is all about fishing—so I chose this title because the man fishes.  Any works directly referenced in this paper are listed below. I did not cite this directly in my project, so it is NOT on my Works Cited Page.


    2. Traveling abroad reminded me of a song by David Bowie about Americans. In Young Americans, he sings, “All night…It was the Young Americans.” It reminded me of the perception of Americans that much of the world has…over the top, excessive, and vibrant.
